The Center for Energy Innovation, Governance and Investment (EGI-HSG) pools St. Gallen University’s expertise in energy research. Through a close cooperation between experts in economics, law and social sciences, the center provides well-founded analysis for decision-making processes in business and politics. The objective is to make a vital contribution to the implementation of the Swiss Energy Strategy 2050 and to provide the necessary strategies at a local level while providing impetus for entrepreneurship and innovation.
In addition to the existing expertise provided by the institutes, funds made available by Innosuisse - Swiss Innovation Agency (previously: CTI) within the framework of the SCCER CREST, in combination with the actors’ own resources and third-party funds, allowed further capacity building such as new Assistant Professorships in the research fields of Energy Governance, Energy Consumer Behaviour, Energy Innovation Management and Energy Law.
